3 ways a new branded business app can help you sell more

Patrice Appleton • February 5, 2019

If you’re contemplating having a branded business app designed for your firm, you’ll likely be interested in maximising the sales opportunities it presents. Depending on what your company actually does and what your branded app is designed to do, there is a plethora of sales opportunities to tap into.

In addition to all of the other benefits of having an app built for your business , it can positively impact on your bottom line by bolstering your own revenue channels, such as your ecommerce website or social media presence.

Read on to discover five ways a branded business app can be used to help you sell more this year…

1. In-app purchases

It’s probable that your app will be free to install and use but this doesn’t mean that you can’t use it as a money maker. In-app purchases, which are common with many different types of apps, can be used to encourage customers to make a purchase. This is a very effective monetisation strategy because your app immerses the user in your product and gives you a totally tailored space to create a desire for your item. This can be used to encourage an in-app purchase, helping to grow your revenue.

2. Push notifications

You can use your branded business app to increase communication with your target customers via push notifications. Once your app has been installed, you can seek permission to keep in touch with users via text message, notification or even emails. These notifications can be used to target sales, via special offers, limited promotions, exclusive deals and early access to new products or discounts. Creating this sense of exclusivity is a tried and tested technique and allows you to put your best deals in front of your target market on a device they can immediately use to make a sale.

3. Create a paid for version

If you have both a premium and free version of your app, your app itself could become a revenue generator by virtue of monthly subscriptions. This is something many apps do across a whole spectrum of different app categories. The free version has all of the basic functionality but the premium version, which is available for a monthly fee, unlocks the full experience. This could include exclusive content or access to additional features. A number of fitness, food and dating apps all use this approach to great success.
