Apple leading the field in brand retention

Smartphones have become vastly popular over the years with customers increasingly comfortable accessing the internet using their mobile devices compared to any other medium. Smartphones are known to be affordable, easy to use and time saving making them the go to device for many customers.

According to statistics recently released, it has been proven that consumers are more dedicated to purchasing Apple iPhones compared to any other smart phone brand. Aside from build quality and the customer experience, Apple is rapidly growing a reputation for leading the charts for brand retention and customer loyalty. This has been confirmed by reports from Morgan Stanley’s Alpha Wise tracker which showed that 90% of iPhone users retain the brand when choosing to buy another phone.

Apples biggest rival has been Samsung for the last 7 years, with both technology giants trading blows to dominate the industry. Despite such tough competition, Apple have certainly taken the lead in terms of brand retention, with Apple retaining 76% of their customers followed by Samsung at 58% and then Nokia with a distant 33%. One of the core reasons behind Apples success and brand retention was because they came up with the concept of mobile data services. This outstandingly gained the public’s interests and spurred Apple into gaining a good market share in the smartphone industry.

According to recent reports from Forbes, 2,275 of iPhone users were polled for a survey. Around 59% of users confessed to “blind loyalty” which meant that they wouldn’t consider another brand or do any research on a different smartphone brand; instead they would prefer buying the same make but an updated model. The explanation that customers gave based on these results were; 78% said they can’t imagine having another phone aside from an iPhone whilst the other 22% said that the iPhone had impressed them so much that they would not want to opt for another smartphone.

Apple has definitely impressed the industry and the paying public with their outstanding concept of smartphones and the feature rich features they incorporate within the device. This is why Apple is leading the industry in brand retention.
