Essential tools to market your new business app

Patrice Appleton • May 28, 2019

When the time comes to kick off the marketing campaign for your new app, you’ll want to ensure that you have all the tools you need to really make a splash. Here, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourites, all accessible to SMEs and all really useful for marketing tasks. Of course, these tools can be used to market your business as a whole, not just your newly designed app, meaning they’re a worthwhile investment.

Hootsuite

Hootsuite is a social media management tool and its pricing starts from three. If you have three or fewer social media accounts, you can use Hootsuite at no cost, although the paid for packages are still pocket friendly at less than £20 per month. This tool is a real time saver and is also great for reputation management. You can use it to pre-schedule social media posts in bulk, saving time on daily updates.

You can also see past posts, messages, mentions, retweets and engagements at a glance, keeping you on top of your brand profile quickly and easily. This is especially useful during your app marketing, as you can use the user-friendly dashboard to keep tabs on what users are saying about your app on social media.

BuzzSumo

If you’re going to be creating content to support your new app, in the form of blog posts and social media updates, BuzzSumo can do some of the research heavy lifting for you. Simply plug in a keyword or topic and it will show you the most popular articles relating to that term – so you can quickly and easily craft more compelling content, aligned with what readers are known to prefer, to market your app more efficiently.

Mailchimp

Email marketing is a must if you have a GDPR-friendly, opt-in media list. Mailchimp is an easy platform to get to grips with if you’re new to email marketing tools but also has an abundance of features and plug-ins if you’re a more advanced user. Free email template designs mean you don’t even have to code your own – though you can import your own HTML design if you have one prepared. There’s good reporting too and free sends for smaller businesses. Thereafter, pricing is credit based according to the size of your send so you should find it easy to keep the budget in check.
