5 essential apps to help you run your business

Rebecca Appleton • March 5, 2019

If you’re visiting us because you’re considering getting a revenue-generating app designed for your business , you’ll need no convincing of the power and usefulness the right app can offer users. As a business owner, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to apps that can make life easier, more productive, less stressful and more profitable. So just which 5 apps will help you go about your day and run your business better than ever before?

1. WhatsApp

You may think of it as more of an app for socialising and keeping in touch with friends and family but WhatsApp is a great tool for the small business owner too. You can use it to group chat – perfect for project planning – and make free voice and video calls – perfect instead of physically travelling to a meeting or as an alternative to pricey meeting software.

2. Evernote

Inspiration can strike anywhere and when you’re in the middle of something else, that can be pretty inconvenient. Likewise, if you’re trying to be more productive, making use of otherwise wasted time such as the daily commute to the office can mean you can leave work an hour earlier at the other end of the day. Evernote is a note taking app so you can use it to jot ideas down or work on that website article or presentation with a looming deadline.

3. Quickbooks

For finances, Quickbooks is a great tool that makes it much easier to track and record expenses, quotes and invoices on the go – so you spend less tine wrangling off bits of paper and coffee stained receipts at the end of each month. Plus, it can sort your expenses for you, saving lots of time and making for more accurate bookkeeping.

4. Headspace

We all need time away from work but the demands of running a business can make that feel like an impossible task. Headspace is a convenient way to take time out and recharge – especially useful if your day is long and fraught. It’s also a good way to ensure that you actually put those work life balance and self care New year’s resolutions you made in January into practise!

5. Trello

Being productive and efficient starts with being organised so banish those post-its and migrate to Trello instead. You can use this app to make lists, assign tasks, prioritise work and collaborate with your team, clients or suppliers.
