5 tips for successfully promoting your app on Twitter

Eazi-Apps Support • Feb 16, 2018

With more than 330 million active monthly users, Twitter has become one of the leading social media platforms for app developers looking to market their product and promote their brand. According to Twitter, 83% of its users are on mobile and are looking for apps to download. If you’re struggling to integrate Twitter into your digital marketing strategy, these tips will help you find success.

Create urgency

Research has suggested that the majority of Twitter users will log into their accounts to find out what is happening now. Current events and the latest trends are the main factors that drive Twitter users which is why it’s important to create a sense of urgency with the language you use within your Tweets. Take advantage of users’ desire for new content by using words like ‘hurry’, ‘now’ or ‘quick’ to grab attention and drive more traffic to your app or website.

Use personal language

Adding a personal touch to your Tweets has been shown to improve engagement and increase the number of clicks. Including words such as ‘you’ and ‘your’ will encourage more users to follow the link, thereby improving potential conversion figures. In fact, research has shown that using the second person in tweets can increase conversion by 13%.

Including pricing information

Many marketers and app developers using Twitter are often reluctant to put up any prices and prefer to lure consumers into following the link before providing pricing information. On the contrary, research from Twitter has shown that users are more likely to engage with Tweets that include pricing information. This is particularly effective with e-commerce apps, dating services and other apps that offer a subscription service.

Promote special offers

Whether you’re planning a sale on a selected product line or you’ve recently released a new app update, it’s important to include specific information regarding the promotion. Figures showed a 40% increase in app click rate amongst promotional tweets. Be concise and include specific details on the promotion or announcement.

Don’t use too many capitals

While it’s important to try and make your Tweets stand out and grab the attention of users, you shouldn’t go overboard with your use of capital letters as this can have negative effects. According to statistics from Twitter, promotional Tweets from app developers that include excessive capital letters resulted in a 36% lower conversion rate.
